I really am just a straight guy who really hasn't got a clue about the gays. Gay gamers?! The thought never even crossed my mind! But I'll take anything on and am willing to give anyone a try as a guest. So I've been having ideas on what you should have in your upcoming episodes, what type of people and what topics you can discuss. Maybe you have a gay gamer on the show and discuss about being an out person in the gaming world (although there is a gaygamer.net podcast and site, you can get your take), or maybe someone with ethnic minority view on being gay.

I have no good reason to my suggestions, just a "why not have them?". They sound like interesting concepts.

Keep them coming,
Michael.

Comment on Episode #4 The Island Of Lesbos

I'm a new listener and will be looking forward to more! However, I would take some exception to her claim that it is easier to be a gay man than a lesbian. I don't think it's a question of one group having it easier than another. Rather, it's about confronting different forms of discrimination.

Gay men's are more likely to be the victims of violent crime (2004 federal hate crime stats show 61% of crimes based on sexual orientation were committed against gay men while crimes against lesbians compromised 14% of hate crimes). Additionally, gay men's sexuality is generally treated with more disgust than lesbian sexuality. Hoever, lesbians have to deal with gender inequlality combined with sexual orientation discrimination.

I would also agree with the point Sarah makes that it is really conformity with gender stereotypes that has the largest impact on how much intolerance most lgbt people encounter. I would just add that this factor applies to both gay men and lesbians. It's not as acceptable to be an effeminate gay man as opposed to a more traditionally masculine guy.

Comment on Episode #4 The Island Of Lesbos

Not "was" all those things.
